In ISEUS attendance is not kept on paper or in a spreadsheet someone retypes later. The professor or assistant starts the scanner for a lecture or lab, students scan the QR code with their phones, and the system immediately knows who was there, how many classes each student missed and who is getting close to the limit.
How it works

Start the scanner
Turn on the scanner for a lecture or lab session. The screen shows a QR code that changes every 15 seconds.

Students scan
Students scan the code with their phone camera or in the app. A photo of the code shared in a group chat stops working within seconds.

The scanner switches itself off
The scanner turns off automatically after the set time (15 minutes by default), and you can extend it.

See attendance per student and per session. When needed, mark students present by hand, one by one or all at once.

Assistant
The same mechanism for your lab groups: you start the scanner for your session and attendance is recorded for the students of your group.
Student
Scanning takes a few seconds, and the portal always shows your attendance and how many absences you have left.
Frequently asked questions
How does QR code attendance tracking at a university work?
The instructor turns on the scanner for a lecture or lab and shows a QR code. Students scan it with their phones and attendance is recorded right away for the student, the course and the session.
Can a student send a photo of the QR code to a friend?
It will not help. The code changes every 15 seconds and the server only accepts the current and the previous code, so a photo stops working almost immediately. The scanner also switches itself off after the set time.
What if a student’s camera does not work?
The instructor can mark a student or the whole group present by hand, and there is a short code for manual entry while the scanner is on.
Can I set a maximum number of absences?
Yes. For lectures and labs you set the allowed number of absences and the attendance requirement for the course signature, and both students and staff can see where they stand.
