Course roles and change log

When several people work on a course, it matters who may do what and who changed what. ISEUS has clear roles in every course, and every change is recorded with its values before and after.

How it works

  1. 01

    Main professor

Every course has exactly one main professor, who manages settings, staff and signatures and can hand the role over to another professor.

  2. 02

    Professors and assistants

Other professors change their own items and the assistants’ work. Assistants change what they created or were assigned and score the students of their groups.

  3. 03

    Full rights

The main professor can give an assistant full rights: the assistant can then do everything a professor can on that course, except what is reserved for the main professor.

  4. 04

    Change log

Every change is recorded in the same transaction: who, what, when, before and after. Professors see everything, assistants see their own entries.

What each role gets

Professor

Delegate work to assistants and always check what changed, with filters by person, type and time.

Assistant

You know exactly what you may change, and with full rights you can take over a larger part of the course work.

Student

Changes to points and results are never anonymous: each one leaves a trace.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the main professor of a course?

The professor who created the course or the one the role was handed to. The main professor cannot leave the course until they hand the role to another professor.

What can a teaching assistant do in ISEUS?

By default an assistant changes the items they created or were assigned and scores the students of their groups. With full rights they can do everything a professor can on that course, and every change stays in the log.

What does the change log record?

Who made the change, when, on what, and the changed fields before and after. Sensitive data such as passwords and email addresses is removed from the record automatically.
